Matthew Zapf, MD

Matthew Zapf, MD, MSc is a board-certified Orthopaedic Surgeon specializing in complex sports-related, degenerative and acute injuries to the shoulder, hip and knee. He emphasizes individualized treatment plans and guides patients through all non-operative, evidence based, treatment options before surgical intervention is discussed. If surgery is indicated, he works with the patient to determine the appropriate options for their lifestyle demands. Dr. Zapf is one of only two ACGME accredited sports medicine surgery fellowship trained orthopaedic surgeons in the Coachella Valley. His goal is not just to treat a specific injury, but to optimize the patient’s health as a whole and get them back to the activities they love. Dr. Zapf is a United States Ski, Snowboard & Freestyle team physician. As a Southern California native he enjoys outdoor sports and is an avid cyclist and skier. When he is off the bike, he is trying to keep up with his wife on the tennis court, hiking with their dog, reading and spending time with his family.
