Dr. Ramin Pooyan is a board-certified and fellowship-trained Hand and Upper Extremity Specialist. He received advanced fellowship training in Hand and Upper Extremity/Microsurgery at University of Pittsburgh/Hamot Medical Center. Over the course of his career Dr. Pooyan has received numerous honors and awards, including published articles which have been presented at local and national meetings. Dr. Pooyan specializes in Minimally Invasive Surgery for hand and upper extremity conditions, some of which include arthritic conditions of the wrist, hand and fingers, nerve compression syndromes (Carpal Tunnel and Cubital Tunnel Syndromes), Dupuytren’s Contracture, fractures and traumatic injuries of the shoulder and upper extremities.

The staff is always friendly and helpful. They take their time to make sure I am getting what I want/need without putting other people on longer waits. That means there is enough front office staff. Very good.

Dr. P0YAN IS A BRILLIANT SURGEON. I will be forever grateful he was on call when I was delivered, by ambulance to the er at DRMC on 2-14-22 wi a compound wrist fracture at the age of 71. I remember meeting him and hearing It was bad but "he was going tp take good care of me" or something to that effect. I was discharged a month later and had not seen nor heard from him. Not unusual these days. My next appt. And probably my lst with him is in June. Im actually typing wi two hands for the first time since the accident! Dr. P advised me that my bones, and not his words exactly, had turned to mush., due to osteoporosis, and wasn't quite sure how we were going to proceed. Well he figured It out and more than a year later finally see first hand, no pun Intended, he Is not only a brilliant surgeon but compassionate, bruttally honest, soft spoken but heard and certainly doesnt give up.

Registration process had a couple of bugs had to do it a couple of times but was glad to see most of the information was saved and quickly handled when I actually went to the office. The staff extremely respectful and informative x-ray technician quick sensitive felt like I was on a conveyor belt but in a good way. Was not ever alone for long Medical Aid made sure Dr pooyan had what he needed Ii.e. Exray and previous appt. Before he came in. He came in. When he did come in my no-nonsense doctor actually sat down and seemed more relaxed than I've ever seen him, has he evaluated the progress and set forth that continued plan. He's an amazing doctor and it seemed he had amazing people around him to set forth all the next steps.
