Carl West, MD

Carl West, MD is a native of Southern California and has joined JFK Memorial Hospital as a Gastroenterologist. Dr. West grew up in the San Fernando Valley and attended UCLA undergraduate and the USC School of Medicine. During his internal medicine residency at UC San Diego University Hospital he decided to specialize in digestive tract and liver problems, finishing his training in 1981. He was in practice in Orange County until 1995 when he joined Gastroenterology Associates of Ithaca, New York. In 2016 he and his wife decided to return to California and join family members in La Quinta. Dr. West has experience in all aspects of adult Gastroenterology and Liver disease. He has extensive experience in endoscopy and colonoscopy procedures. Abdominal pain, ulcers, change in bowel habits, jaundice, colon cancer diagnosis and prevention are among the medical conditions his sees. Dr. West looks forward to this next phase of his medical career and meeting new patients in the Coachella Valley.
