Desert Regional Medical Center Welcomes Scott Morey as New Chief Nursing Officer

PALM SPRINGS, Calif. – November 6, 2018 – Desert Regional Medical Center today announced the appointment of Scott Morey, MBA, BSN, RN, as Chief Nursing Officer (CNO). Mr. Morey joins the Desert Regional Medical Center’s Administrative Team from the Abrazo West Campus, in Phoenix, where he served as CNO since 2016. Mr. Morey assumed his new position effective November 5, 2018.

Mr. Morey brings more than 15 years of combined clinical and management experience to this new role. He began his clinical career as a staff nurse in the critical care areas. Mr. Morey also served as Director of Emergency Services at Phoenix Baptist Hospital from 2007-2011. Prior to his work with Phoenix Baptist Hospital, he worked as Director of Telemetry and Emergency Services at Phoenix Memorial Hospital from 2005-2007.

Most recently, Mr. Morey was named CNO at the Abrazo Maryvale Campus in 2011, and in 2014 he was also named to the Chief Operating Officer role. In 2016 he was named CNO at the Abrazo West Campus, near Phoenix.

Mr. Morey received his Bachelors in Nursing from D’Youville College in Buffalo, N.Y. and went on to earn his Masters of Business Administration – Health Care Management from the University of Phoenix in Phoenix, Arizona. He is a member of the American Organization of Nurse Executives.
